The red colour of this two-tone kit is inspired by two periods in our history. The deep maroon pays homage to the original colours of Aberdeen, which was founded in 1881. This Aberdeen team later merged with Orion and Victoria United in 1903 to form Aberdeen Football Club, and the rest is history.

The maroon colour also featured on Sir Alex Ferguson’s bench jacket on our most famous night in Gothenburg against Real Madrid in 1983, and was most recently celebrated at the end of last year when we launched the adidas SPZL collection.

Our new kit features a red base with a stylish polo collar and subtle pinstripes running the length of the shirt. Hits of maroon add depth, while the distinctive stripes on the shoulders and side panels create a modern, dynamic look.
